 Brian
and Illa are passionate about sharing the stoke
they get from the ocean. Surfing (single or tandem,
longboard or shortboard), paddling, fishing, and freediving
are just the beginning of their intimate relationship
with the sea. Their love and respect for the ocean draws
attention from anyone who sees them. And anyone in sight
of their world-class tandem surfing is sure to stop
and take notice.
The team has participated in events
at every level, taking them to competitions and exhibitions
around the world including; Tahiti, Costa Rica, Hawaii,
Brazil, Australia, Mexico, France, and more. Over the
past 12 years they have taken the First Place position
at each of the California tandem events. Widely recognized
as one of the top teams in the world, Brian & Illa
placed 5th in the 2006 World Championship Duke Kahanamoku
Festival & 2nd in the 2007 European Cup.
Brian & Illa are married &
live in Carlsbad, California with their daughters, Keili
& Hana.
