Clay and Kristen have
been married for seventeen years have been tandem surfing
for the past ten years. They have three children. Clay
is a “recovering” attorney who just went into business
with Steve Boehne of Infinity Surfboards. Together they
are opening a surfboard manufacturing plant in San Clemente,
and Clay owns the glass shop part, Huntington Glassworks.
Kristen is a corporate training consultant, who operates
her business in the same offices as Clay so that they
can work together and play together. 
 Tandem
surfing is their shared passion. In fact, they consider
tandem surfing the secret of a happy marriage! “Tandem
Everything” is their motto: they tandem surf, tandem
mountain bike, tandem skateboard, and even dance together.
They have competed in world events in Australia, France,
Mexico, California, and Hawaii, but their favorite break
to tandem surf is the world famous San Onofre. They
are currently ranked 6th place in the 2007 ITSA World
Championships.
